VanJeevan

VanJeevan aims at wildlife conservation and preventing human-animal conflict by ensuring availability of water in troughs built inside forest areas during summer.

Wildlife plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems. However, rapid human population growth over the last two centuries has endangered many wildlife habitats and species. Climate change is also exacerbating these issues, with rising temperatures and disrupted natural patterns, such as rainfall. Many forests, sanctuaries, and protected areas are now facing severe water shortages, threatening the survival of wildlife.

At M3M Foundation, we believe every life matters. VanJeevan, our initiative, is dedicated to wildlife conservation and reducing human-animal conflict by ensuring water availability in forest areas during the dry seasons. Through VanJeevan, we aim to safeguard wildlife for future generations, preserving the natural resources and species they depend on.

As part of this initiative, we have constructed water troughs and installed solar-powered water pumps to provide year-round water for wildlife. To date, we have successfully installed 6 solar pumps and built 6 water troughs in Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary (Maharashtra) and 1 solar pump in Kolhuchour Forest Area (Uttarakhand). These installations provide 96,000 liters of water per day, supporting wildlife such as 315 elephants, 65 tigers, over 110 leopards, 30 species of mammals, including wolves, hyenas, cheetals, nilgais, blackbucks, jackals, and various bird species, both resident and migratory.
